Jason David Frank, who played Tommy Oliver on the Power Rangers TV show in the 1990s, has died.

Jason David Frank (September 4, 1973 – November 19, 2022) was an American actor and mixed martial artist best known for his role as Tommy Oliver in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and other Power Rangers shows.

Jason’s ‘death’:

Jason died in Texas on November 19, 2022, at the age of 49.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Frank’s manager, Justine Hunt, confirmed his death.

She did not specify the cause or date of death, However, she made a request to the “personal life of his friends and family during this miserable time as we come to cope with the death of such a wonderful human being.”

Career history:

Frank officially announced his signing with SuckerPunch Entertainment, a sports marketing and management firm specialising in MMA, on August 21, 2009. He began training with Melvin Guillard, a UFC lightweight.

Debut:

Frank made his long-awaited MMA debut for the United States Amateur Combat Association on January 30 at the Houston Arena Theatre in the company’s inaugural event, “Lonestar Beatdown: Houston.” He won the first round by omoplata submission over Jonathan “the Mack Truck” Mack. Frank competed in his second fight on February 19 at Lonestar Beatdown: Dallas in Arlington, Texas. Chris Rose, who made his ring entrance wearing a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles robe, was his opponent. Frank TKOed Rose in the first round (strikes).

On May 8, 2010, he decided to compete for the Texas Rage in the Cage Amateur Association’s “Cage Rage 7” in Hidalgo, Texas’ State Farm Arena. James Willis was his opponent. Frank defeated Willis by KO in the first round with a rising knee.

Frank was supposed to make his Ultimate Warrior Challenge debut on May 22 against James “Ray” Handy Jr. in a light heavyweight match.

Tommy Oliver, the Green Ranger, was played by Frank. The role was scheduled to last 14 episodes. Due to the character’s popularity, he was re – introduced as the White Ranger and the team’s new leader.

Personal life:

Frank was a Christian, and he said he started going to church after his brother died. In 1994, he married his first wife, with whom he had two sons and one daughter. They split up in 2001. He married his second wife, Tammie, in 2003, and they had one daughter. Tammie divorced in 2022.
